Dementia causes an incurable gradual loss of brain function in those who live with it, leading them to have difficulty living as they once did. Affecting more than 800,000 people in the UK, it has a significant impact on the daily routine of the person with dementia as well as their families and carers.

One part of this daily routine that can be affected, with disastrous consequences, are the regular mealtimes throughout the day. As patients with dementia already experience confusion, communication problems, and a lack of energy, this is greatly exacerbated by poor nutrition. That's why it is so important to help those with dementia by providing special dining aids which ensure that they eat and drink properly.

Our dementia dining aids have been designed to enable those living with the condition to better find and see their food. By using dementia crockery such as coloured plates or cups, patients can rediscover their independence at the dining table.
